PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
PEO 1: To equip graduates with a strong foundation in engineering sciences and Electronics & Communication Engineering fundamentals to become effective collaborators, researchers and real-time problem solver with technical competencies.
PEO 2: To provide exposure to emerging technologies, adequate training and opportunities to work as teams on multi-disciplinary projects with effective communication skills and leadership qualities meeting the requirements of companies in India and abroad.
PEO 3: To prepare graduates to become successful and responsible engineer with social and ethical values in professional engineering practices.

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 1998 with B. Tech program. The Department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2004 and 2008 respectively. The M. Tech. Program in Electronics & Communication Engineering has commenced from the Academic Session 2005-2006 with duration of two years.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

PSO 1: Apply basic knowledge related to electronic circuits, embedded & communication systems and signal processing to solve engineering/societal problems in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
PSO2: Design, verify and validate electronic functional elements for a variety of applications, with skills to analyze, interpret and communicate results to meet desired needs.
PSO3: Recognize contemporary issues and adapt to technical developments and to engage in lifelong learning and develop consciousness for professional, social, legal and ethical responsibilities.
PSO4: Use engineering & management concepts to analyze specifications and prototype electronic experiments/projects either independently or in teams so as to attain a common specific goal.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.Tech.
Candidates with 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Biotechnology, or relevant subject from a recognized Board are considered eligible to join B. Tech course. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to B. Tech LTE course is candidates should have completed Diploma in Engineering from a recognized University.
Selection Criteria : WBJEE
M. Tech.
All PG level entrance examination is conducted by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
Haldia Institute of Technology runs M.Tech course of 2-years duration in 5 disciplines. The institute also offers MBA program of 2-year duration and MCA program of 2-years duration. The eligibility criteria of M. Tech program is Bachelor’s degree in B.E/B.Tech. The selection of it is done through an entrance exam of WB-PGET or GATE. The eligibility criteria of MBA course is graduation in any discipline and the selection is through WB-JEMAT. Those students who have passed 3-years Graduation program or BCA course and have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 or Graduation level are eligible to apply. Selection in MCA is done through WB-JECA. GD and PI is also held by the university before making the final selection.
