The Research Council is the HIT's central support office for all aspects
of research including:

research funding and projects
-
research degrees
-
policy and strategy
The RC assists academic and research staff to source, apply for and
manage external funding from organizations such as research councils,
charities, government departments.
We also promote research undertaken across HIT, and provide key
information to anyone interested in collaborating with us on a research
project.
Research students and supervisors are supported from the initial
application to completion stage, with RC acting as a first point of
contact for prospective students seeking guidance on research
opportunities. We also advise staff and students on all policy,
procedure and compliance issues
HIT is one of nation's leading research institution, with a nation-wide
reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
HIT offers an exceptional postgraduate staff to student ratio and aims
to ensure our research students receive high quality supervision. Our
academic staff are dedicated to assisting you begin and successfully
complete your research program. We also run regular seminars to ensure
you have the chance to share your research with other students.
We offer a safe and supportive environment for postgraduate study. This
includes assistance with professional development and presentation
skills, IT support, and a specialized Orientation to Research Program
for new students. Our library is widely regarded as one of the best
libraries in Eastern India. Depending on your field of research,
purpose-built laboratories are also available.
Our office promotes and facilitates the research, education, and
outreach missions of the HIT by supporting and administering sponsored
programs.
Research represents the lifeblood of HIT. It powers everything we do,
from our innovative teaching methods to our celebrated alumni's.
Without research we simply would not be able to teach in the way we do.
At HIT our students learn from leaders in their fields, A HIT researcher
is given the freedom to explore new directions and make their own
discoveries in their own way. They work in constant partnership with
industry, government and other universities to break new ground in their
